I was cleaning up the blog a bit when I discovered two pertinent statistics:
I’ve reviewed 42 books thus far; and
the average book rating on Russia Reviewed‘s standard 5-star scale is 2.6 stars.
That’s unusually low, considering the average Amazon book has a rating of 4 stars, the Goodreads average hovers around 3.75, and my own average Goodreads rating is 3.61.
Am I a more harsh critic than I thought?
Am I jaded? Bored? Under the Kremlin’s influence?
Do I simply enjoy tearing books apart?
Is this a sure sign of my eventual abandonment of book critique, blogging, and RAS?
Or do I just have standards when it comes to writing about Russia?
