Discussion: Favorite/least fav. professional Russia-watchers?

Is there a particular Russia watcher, scholar or journalist whose work you like/read frequently/enjoy/admire? What qualities of their work appeal to you? Are there any Russia-watchers whose work you can’t stand? I’m curious to know.

This post is an experiment in creating (hopefully) lively discussion. In the comments apparently, because there are no forum or chat-style post formats on WordPress.

(Just please refrain from ad-homineming those Russia-watchers to death.)
