Reading on Russia includes articles and op-eds as well as books. So now and again I will share articles dealing with Russian affairs from other sites that I find particularly insightful.
This is a somewhat old article, but interesting nonetheless. It explores and challenges the popular notion that Russia has experienced a rollback of democracy during Putin’s tenure as president.
How solid is Eidlin’s argument? Also, while we can all agree that Russia is a far cry from being a liberal democracy, is it a dictatorship? I’m curious to hear your responses in the comments below.
